Cooling while the vehicle stops, extra power while in movement
When a vehicle stops, the main engine-powered air conditioning system is not always available. Lumikko parking and auxiliary air conditioning helps keep the crew compartment cooler in parked mode by using the vehicle battery system. While driving, the same unit can support the existing HVAC system and add cooling capacity in hot conditions.
Key benefits
- Cooling with the engine switched off: the unit uses the vehicle battery system, so the crew compartment is not fully dependent on the main HVAC system in parked mode.
- Additional capacity while driving: supports the existing air conditioning system when heat load, ambient conditions or mission profile demand more cooling.
- Operational readiness for crew and equipment: helps manage interior temperature and the operating conditions of heat-sensitive systems.
- Flexible installation: suitable for rear superstructure or other vehicle-specific integration locations when serviceability, protection and airflow are considered in design.
- Project-specific sizing: cooling capacity, controls, ducting and electrical interface can be adapted to the vehicle use case.

Suitable applications
Tactical 4x4 vehicles and other lighter defence platforms
Crew, command, communications and sensor-system vehicles
Vehicles that spend extended periods stationary in hot conditions
Platforms where the existing HVAC system needs parallel capacity during peak loads
