Lumikko Invests in New Innovation Facilities in Seinäjoki – Lumikko Innovation Lab
Lumikko is investing hundreds of thousands of euros in new innovation facilities this year. The Lumikko Innovation Lab is located on the same site as the Lumikko factory and provides significantly more space for the company’s design and product development team.
The investment supports Lumikko’s long-term commitment to developing new HVAC, cooling and thermal management solutions. Product development is currently active across several of Lumikko’s key business areas, including defence, railway and electrified mobile machinery.
Development is driven by evolving customer needs, increasingly demanding operating environments, energy efficiency, electrification and the transition towards more sustainable technologies. Natural refrigerants are one example of the technologies Lumikko has been developing for several years.
The Innovation Lab brings expertise from different projects under one roof, making it easier to share knowledge and ideas across teams. It also provides a better environment for working together with customers and turning application-specific needs into practical solutions.
Product development and innovation are central to Lumikko’s operations: approximately one-third of the company’s workforce works in product development, engineering and innovation.
